Quiznos vs. Subway

So I find the competition between Subway and Quiznos funny. $5 sandwiches, limited time to $5 all the time. Well now Quizno's is $4!

And of course Little Man LOVES to sing the "$5 Footlong" song. So my husband prefers Subway ans I prefer Quizno's so we make mulitple stops when sandwiches are for dinner!

Here is a great deal you can't pass up if you like Quizno's

10 Favorite Cities

Well I have not been to a lot of places so some of these may be places I have never been but WANT to do to:

1. Disneyland, not really a CITY but still my favorite place on earth!

2. Hawaii, again not a city but would love to go there one day.

3. Tuscany, never been there but would love to go.

4. Portland. I have been here and during the summer a great place to go with TONS to do outdoors.

5. Nashville, the city that never sleeps. I was planning on moving here. Before I left I meet Milkman and obviously fell in love and never moved. I visited and would love to go back.

6. Las Vegas, great place, very hot. I don't really like the gambling but the shows and FOOD are GREAT!

Very emotional. Our prayers go out to Diane and Steve and baby Preston who went to heaven this weekend. We love you guys a lot. I may not be blogging a lot this week. Trying to recover from last week.

Ugh laundry!

How often do you have the time to do something for yourself? If you're like most moms, the answer is almost never. As Moms, we're proud of everything we're able to do for our families, but we think you'll agree that a little "me time" goes a long way! Luckily, there's a company out there who understands a mom's desire to spend less time doing routine housework and more time doing what we love. Frigidaire, the appliance brand known for their legendary reliability, is unveiling 250 new appliances designed with specific time-saving features to give you more time for YOUR time.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that research shows that Moms are logging more overtime than most Americans. In fact, Frigidaire's recently released "Motherload Index" revealed that moms spend most of their waking lives - 200 hours each month - doing the activities they least enjoy rather than the things they love.
With their new line of appliances, Frigidaire is aiming to free up some newfound "me time" for Moms and they want to know what you'll do with it! By visiting Frigidaire.com, you can share the five things that you would do with an extra hour in your day for a chance to win an entire suite of the new time-saving Frigidaire appliances.
Want to know if they REALLY save you time? Visit my friend' blog, 24/7 MOMS, she was given the entire suite to review!

Week 10

We had a prodcutive weekend! It's nice to not have any plans! Little Princess is getting bigger and bigger everyday.

This weekend we finally made Little Man's room into the "Baseball Room".

Mommy painted a baseball diamond on the wall. She also took his baseball pennants and made them into valences on room darkening drapes.
Then we took all his signed memorabilia and put them either on a shelf or in frames. He is SO excited!
We hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mother's Day - The Price of Children

You may have seen this email going around but it is SO true and adorable! The Price of Children Here is something absolutely positive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice. The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140.00 for a middle income family. Talk about price shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition. But $160,140.00 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into: * $8,896.66 a year, * $741.38 a month, * $171.08 a week. * A mere $24.24 a day! * Just over a dollar an hour. Still, you might think the best financial advice is; don't have children if you want to be 'rich.' Actually, it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140.00? * Naming rights . First, middle, and last! * Glimpses of God every day. * Giggles under the covers every night. * More love than your heart can hold. * Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs. * Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies. * A hand to hold usually covered with jelly or chocolate. * A partner for blowing bubbles and flying kites. * Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the Boss said or how your stocks performed that day. For $160,140.00, you never have to grow up. You get to: * finger-paint, * carve pumpkins, * play hide-and-seek, * catch lightning bugs, * never stop believing in Santa Claus. You have an excuse to: * keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh, * watch Saturday morning cartoons, * go to Disney movies, and * wish on stars. You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day. For a mere $24.24 a day, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for: * retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof, * taking the training wheels off a bike, * removing a splinter, * filling a wading pool, * coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and * coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless. You get a front row seat in history to witness the: * First step, * First word, * First bra, * First date, * First time behind the wheel. You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match. In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, so one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!! Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren!!!!!!! It's the best investment you'll ever make!!!!!!!!!

Food Friday - Yoplait Giveaway

Did you know research has shown that fewer than half of all kids ages two to 12 get the calcium they need each day? Calcium and Vitamin D are both essential nutrients for building strong bones. Though it can be challenging for growing kids to get Vitamin D, since it is found naturally in very few foods, Yoplait for Kids makes it a little easier to incorporate a delicious source of Vitamin D and Calcium in your child's diet.

Yoplait for Kids helps build strong bones, enabling healthy and active bodies. Perfect for a fun-filled day for your active children, the Yoplait Get Active Prize Pack includes a travel cooler (to take your yogurt on the road), a jump rope, a water bottle and an outdoor game set that includes a beach ball, paddle ball, Jai-Ali and a Frisbee.
Enter to win one of three Yoplait Get Active Prize Packs.
To enter comment on your favorite outdoor activity! Entries will be accepted through May 17, 2009 and I will pick the winner using Random.org. US readers are only eligible. Little Princess' New Toy

Little Princess got a set of Mind Shapes to review and boy does she love it! I was even able to catch the first smile on picture! My friends at Manhattan Toy sent us their award winning Mind-Shapes designed by Wimmer-Ferguson.
Wimmer-Ferguson was the original innovator of black and white developmental baby toys. They first broke ground when they introduced the Stimobile many years ago.

Manhattan Toy was founded in 1979 by Francis Goldwyn (grandson of motion picture studio owner Sam Goldwyn), Manhattan Toy pioneered the use of non-traditional fabrics in toy design and introduced delightful new body styles in soft toys. Although Goldwyn is no longer involved in the ownership of Manhattan Toy, we remain true to his vision of marching to the beat of a different (toy) drum.

The Mind Shapes are three plush shapes that have the crinkle noise, rattle and hidden chime sound. The stimulating black and white graphics and textured fabric serve as a great developmental toy for babies 0-24 months.

We hung our Mind Shapes from Little Princess' bouncy seat. She loves to try to hit them and stares at them! It is GREAT!

Manhattan Toys have many other developmental toys for babies as well as just plain toys for children through preschool.

When Little Man was little he loved the Whoozit Baby, the Winkel and the Skwish ! I am sure we still them around here somewhere!

Check out Manhattan Toy today!
