I often cringe at how independent my Little Man is getting. Then again I think/know I encourage it. Today was the first day my 4-year old used an alarm clock. Yes I know many of you at thinking ALREADY? Yes already. He has "issues" in the morning. We have pushed bedtime to 8pm. I should probably push it to 7:30pm but we don't get to spend that much time together on weeknights as it is. So back to the morning "issues" he does not like to get out of bed, just like his mommy! So I will wake him up when I get up at 6:40am and it takes 5-10 minutes just to get out of bed. Then goes the struggle of getting dressed. Now this struggle is only Tuesdays and Thursdays. Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays he only has to put his clothes in a bag for grandmas. But we still have issues with this.
So I decided to buy him an alarm clock. So I set it for 6:40am and I set mine for 6:45am and told him his goal was to get dressed before mommy came downstairs. It sort of worked this morning. As I came downstairs I was met by a bare naked little boy holding his underpants saying "how do I turn it off, it is annoying!"
LOL, that is the point! So we made a deal that I would set it 5 minutes earlier and that if he was completely dressed OR had his clothes in the bag ready for grandmas then he could watch some TV before we left. We will see how this goes tomorrow!

Write commentsThat's a great idea. I am going to use that when my daughter is old enough to get herself dressed. She will eventually be able to get herself dressed right?
