So obviously the BEST going home gift from the hospital in March was our adorable, healthy, baby girl.

The SECOND best going home gift I got was the NEW 2-IN-1 SLEEPSACK SWADDLE from Halo. Now I am sure you are thinking of course she is saying this it was free. Well yes it was free from the hospital. I have seen and heard of Halo Sleepsacks for years now. But Halo has created something that has helped Little Princess sleep better and stay warmer!

The Sleepsack Swaddle allows infants to sleep more soundly by snugly wrapping their arms within, which prevents the startle reflex.

Even better yet the 2-in-1 Sleepsack Swaddle is intended to swaddle infants from the time they leave the hospital and also allows parents to remove the swaddle feature when no longer needed and use its Sleepsack wearable blanket alone, hence the 2-in-1!

We have officially made it through two months. It has been GREAT! Little Princess is wake all the time. She has her 8 week appointment this week so we will see how big she is. We will also be doing more pictures this week. Next week mommy goes back to work full time. We changed bottles and she hardly spits up or burps anymore. Once again she pooped on Daddy. She only poops like once a week and it seems to always be with Daddy, or on him! She is a VERY good baby. She only cries when she is hungry. Still hoping for more sleep soon.

This Friday we are talking about Baby food, well particularly Breastfeeding!


I own a breast pump that probably cost in the mid $200 range. I am pretty unsatisfied with it! First I had to replace the face plate and now/still cannot turn it above medium suction. Kind of inconvenient!


So I was EXTREMELY happy to receive a NEW! Comfort Select Performance™ Dual Auto-Cycling Breast Pump from Mom Central!


Let me say I am very impressed with this pump for several reasons.


First off each horn has its own motor. So when you use batteries this means you can walk around and pump! Some of you may be saying why would I ever want to do that? Well it never fails I start pumping and Little Princess starts whaling! Because she knows mommy is making food!


Dual motors also allows you to control the suction on each breast! This means one can be at full suction and the other at half suction, or whatever works best for you.


This pump also only takes 6 batteries when using the portable function. The pump I currently own uses 10! I have found the battery time is very comparable, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of pump time.


The last and BEST part I found about this pump is the price! This pump retails for around $70. That's right only $70! Which is a HUGE price difference to the over $200 you normally spend on a pump!


Here are some highlights for the new and improved NEW! Comfort Select Performance™ Dual Auto-Cycling Breast Pump:

• Improved cycle time from 38 to 57cpm (60cpm is the accepted norm for a suckling baby)
• Vacuum performance is consistently near the maximum of 250mmHG. Productive vacuum at all settings between min and max.
• Regulated power adapter provides more consistent vacuum levels and cycle rate throughout range
• Dual performance – 2 individual pumps for better production allowing individual settings and overall increased vacuum capacity
• More stable bottle stand to prevent possible spillage
• All components are BPA free and contain less than 0.01% phthalates
• ISO Compliance and International symbols on pump allow retail in Canada
• Upgraded corporate packaging that is WHO code compliant and more appealing to Mom
• Aesthetics improvement – color schemes are more appealing (lavender)

Here are my only suggestions for the next version: A slightly larger bag, or at least side pockets to hold the bottles. The bottles will fit in the cooler portion of the bag, however if you have milk in bags in the cooler section there is no where to put the empty bottles for the next pumping session.

We have always been big believers in making sure our children can sleep when there is noise around. One of the ways we do that is playing music while our children sleep. We also live on a very busy road where sirens can go by at all times of the night and day.

Have you ever heard of Rocco DiSpirito? I had not heard a lot of about him but knew he was a chef. Here is a little background from his website:

"Rocco DiSpirito was born and raised in Jamaica, Queens. His culinary experience began at age eleven in his mother Nicolina's kitchen. By the age of 16, DiSpirito entered the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. He graduated in 1986 with honors and studied abroad at Jardin de Cygne in Paris, France with Dominique Cecillon. In 1990, DiSpirito earned a B.S. in Business from Boston University.

He worked at The Peninsula Hotel in NYC and at The Four Seasons Hotel in Boston. DiSpirito then joined Lespinasse's opening team at The St. Regis in New York City. In 1997, DiSpirito opened the 3 star Union Pacific in New York City's Gramercy Park as Chef and Owner. In 1999, DiSpirito was named Food & Wine's Best New Chef, and in 2000, Gourmet magazine called him "America's Most Exciting Young Chef."

DiSpirito opened Rocco's 22nd Street in the summer of 2003 while cameras for NBC's The Restaurant watched and took notes. Later that summer, more than nine million viewers a week tuned in to see the ups and downs of DiSpirito's family-inspired eatery. The second series aired in the spring of 2004. DiSpirito is the author of 5 cook books including Flavor, Rocco's Italian American, Rocco's Real Life Recipes and DiSpirito's fifth book Rocco Gets Real: Cook At Home Everyday was published October 2008. I recently purchased Rocco Gets Real: Cook At Home Everyday. What a GREAT cookbook! My husband even loves the recipes.

The recipes are VERY simple. There is a cooking "equipment" or tools needed and even pictures of the items. Each recipe comes with a shopping list and also an approximate time it takes to make the recipe. So far I have not found one that takes over 30 minutes! And better yet the ingredients and the tools needed are normal everyday items. This is great for a mom who returns to work next week!

I can't wait to try more of his meals!

One of the most memorable things I remember growing up as a child was baking with my mom. Just two years ago my cousin (who was turning 13) asked for an Easy Bake Oven for her birthday. These seven children represent different states all over the country. One of the finalists this year is from our bakyard! From Olympia, WA MaCall Prengel, 10 years old. Her entry "S'mores Snacks/Chocolaty Peanut Butter" is two exceptional treats rolled into one. The grand prize winning pair in the EASY-BAKE 2009 "Baker of the Year" contest will receive a culinary-inspired trip for four to San Francisco, CA, where the group will visit local food-related sites and attractions. Having a new Little One around I have tried to make Little Man's Birthday as EASY as possible for us this year. We are having it at a local bounce house place that he loves. They pretty much do everything for you which is great. We also had to delay his birthday a couple weeks just in case Little Princess decided to make a late appearance. So his REAL birthday is tomorrow and we will be going out to dinner with family to celebrate it as well as his uncles 40th!

At the 43rd Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest in 2008, Carolyn Gurtz walked away with the million-dollar grand prize for her Double-Delight Peanut Butter Cookies! This wife, mother and grandmother with a passion for baking was introduced to cooking at age seven and she hasn't stopped since then. One contest judge stated that Carolyn's recipe was "a new twist on an old classic." Other judges called out its simplicity and approachability and described it as a delightful taste that combines two classic cookies - a snickerdoodle and a peanut butter cookie.

Anna Ginsberg, a stay-at-home mom who you might know from her blog, Cookie Madness, earned the $1 million prize for her Baked Chicken and Spinach Stuffing in the 42nd Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. At the 2004 competition, the 41st Contest, former librarian wrote her own page in history by capturing the top prize with her Oats 'n Honey Granola Pie recipe. Inspired by pecan pie, Conrad adapted a family-favorite pie and caught the judges' attention with its wonderful flavor and simple preparation.

All it takes is one easy and delicious recipe idea, so we hope you let your readers, friends and family know that it's time to get creative in the kitchen for their chance at a million! One hundred finalists will win a trip to the finals, April 11 - 13, 2010, at the Waldorf-Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek hotel in Florida. Pillsbury is looking for original recipes that taste and look delicious, are easy to prepare and that families across America will love to eat. There are four recipe categories - Breakfast & Brunches, Entertaining Appetizers, Dinner Made Easy and Sweet Treats.

And having a very "urpy" baby I know! And what is even better is a CUTE cloth diaper! Jannuzzi Clothing out of Orange County, California makes some WONDERFUL and SUPER CUTE items. One of which they sent me to review. Their Burp Trio - Cherries (I LOVE Cherries!). These Burp Cloths are 100% cotton which makes them super instantly absorbent when Little Princess spits up. This is nice instead of having it run all the way down the front of my shirt! These burp rags get softer and softer every time I wash them it is amazing!

The cherry appliques are made with super soft minky fabric and does not bleed the colors when washed, another good point! They can also be bleached without fading.

Jannuzzi also has great personalized children's clothing. Charlie Sheen of Two and a Half Men recently showed off his Jannuzzi onsies, blanket, and burp cloths for his twins Max and Bob on Entertainment Tonight!
