Benefits of Eating Naturally Raised Meat vs. Non Organic Meat

In order for meat to be considered “natural”, it can only have had minimal processing. The meat in question must also not contain any artificial flavors, added colors, chemical preservatives or any other synthetic ingredients according to the USDA, AMS. Many are unaware that products that are classified as “organic” must be held to an even higher standard than those classified as “natural”. For meat to be considered “organic”, it must be fed with only organic food and raised from birth without any antibiotics or growth hormones.

It is only starting to become mainstream information that non organic meat can be incredibly bad for consumers. Believe it or not, there are some restaurants that realize the potentially devastating effects of non organic meats which is why they proudly serve only natural meats. An example is Chipotle Mexican Grill along with a few others. It has been documented by the NCBA consumer research that the reasons many people opt for natural and organically raised meats is for freshness, better long-term health, better nutrition and better treatment of the animals themselves.

So exactly what are the benefits of eating naturally raised meat as opposed to non organic meat? The benefits are many and the benefits are significant. It is recognized that the various hormones and antibiotics that are used to feed all different types of non organic animal products are incredibly toxic for the human body. When these chemicals build up in the body, it contributes greatly to many types of diseases.

In fact, cattle that are not organic can and usually are fed the cheapest sources of feed possible, such as fats, oils, grease, gelatin from cattle hooves, poultry, pork protein and horse protein. These types of foods are incredibly unhealthy for cattle to eat as they are vegetarian by nature. Those who chose to eat organic meat are making certain that they are not feeding themselves a healthy dose of toxins from all of the antibiotics and growth hormones used in cattle and other types of meats today. Indeed, better health long-term is the best benefit to eating natural and organically raised meats.
